Shiver me freakin’ timbers – it’s “Talk Like a Pirate” Day

Honestly, if you feel the need to go around saying things like:

“Shiver me timbers”

“Ahoy, matey”

and

“No, really, I DO have a girlfriend. It’s just that she lives in Canada and you’ve been out of town when she visits and, yes, she does look a lot like the model in the picture that came with my wallet.”

You’re not a real pirate. You need to grow up, get a real job and, perhaps, a life.

That said, here’s a cute picture (thanks, Hugh!):

Yarrr

The “Yarrrr-mot.” Like a Marmot, but more swashbuckling.

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

Corsair_2

Avast!  Belay that headline!

Once again, me hearties:

"Yarrr! It Be The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year! International Talk Like A Pirate Day be three points off the starboard yardarm!"

Arrr. Now that be a headline, fair and true.

Shock Me, Amadeus!

Mozart_in_verona

Apparently, trash culture did not begin with Britney.
Did you know Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
once wrote a song called  Leck Mich Im Arsch
(Loose translation: "Lick My Ass." )
It’s true.

The lyrics:

Kiss my ass!
Let us be glad!
Grumbling is in vain!
Growling, droning is in vain,
is the true bane of life,
Droning is in vain,
Growling, droning is in vain, in vain!
Thus let us be cheerful and merry, be glad!

Solid advice, maestro.

The Mozart brand is probably safe, even if he doesn’t have Chris Crocker to defend his honor.

Danke schoen, (the new and improved) Boing-Boing!
