Deploy Happiness. (And An Order Of Crazy Bread.)

Let's say you make apps for handhelds. What are you really providing? Ones-and-zeroes? No. Nyet. Non. You are giving your customers the ability to do more than they otherwise could have. Giving them the power to fill orders on the spot. Trade stocks from the airport lounge. Do pretty much anything that needs doing. In real time. Without delay. So if you think about it, they're not "using apps." They're deploying happiness.

Mortar client Antenna launched their shiny new Mortar-built website Monday – complete with shiny new logo and shiny new tagline.

We're predictably proud of it, but perhaps even prouder of the client's Facebook tribute to their new logo.

Visit the site. Watch the video. Let us know what you think.

Conan’s People Get Us. They Really Really Get Us.

With a headline like "Reno: It's Like Vegas But Without All The Douchebags!" you'd think we were Conan O'Brien's roadies. Or you'd think Team CoCo had part-time gigs as brand strategists at Mortar. But it ain't like that at all. What it is like is this – we freaking told you so!

See?

SEE!?

There is good, cheap, non-douchey fun to be found in the Biggest Little City. (And alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.) Go check it out for yourselves!
Just don't tell the you-know-whos.

Thanks, Team CoCo!

And don't forget to floss.

How Gold Happens.

"The Wilmer Shields Rich Awards Program for Excellence In Communications recognizes and encourages excellence in communications by foundations and corporate giving programs."

Looks like they recognized excellence when they saw Marin Community Foundation's shiny new Mortar-built website, since they gave it a Gold Award. Are we surprised? Not really. Good clients = good work = good results. Are we happy? Deliriously. But then, we're always kinda delirious.

Your Commute – Now With Extra Bacon.

RENO-015_R1v1_BrandBillboard_CheeseLog

Cross the Bay Bridge a lot? Then you’ll be seeing a lot of Mortar.

If you didn't catch our mention on Adrants on Friday, then listen up: after a long, arduous journey not dissimilar to the Donner Party's, Our Reno Tahoe rebranding effort is taking a few baby steps into the public eye. If you're headed west over the Bay Bridge you'll see these billboards for the next year – so let us take a moment to say that while we strongly encourage a visit to Reno Tahoe, we strongly discourage whipping power u-turns mid-span. One board is powered by Twitter, so follow the tourist board @RenoTahoe if you're thinking of going up. Because a road trip to Reno Tahoe is great, but a road trip with a discount at the end of it is like a road trip wrapped in delicious bacon.
