We’re Beefing Up Our Account and Creative Teams.

Thanks to some recent new business wins, we’re growing like Zach Galifianakis’ beard on Miracle Gro. We’re on the hunt for an Account Executive, Account Director, Senior Art Director, and  Account Management InternRead on the for the details.

Account Executive/Cheetah

We’re looking for an account executive with 2-3 years agency experience to manage the crap out of a wide variety of clients and projects.  Working on your own with smaller-sized accounts and as part of a larger account team on bigger ones, we’ll be counting on you to develop scopes of work (including timelines and pricing) and project briefs and then wrangle agency resources across our media, planning, and creative teams to deliver what you promised – on time and on budget, natch.

Stuff You’ll Do All Day (Besides Stalking Thomson’s Gazelles):

  • Develop and manage detailed client timelines and budgets for online and offline deliverables.
  • Draft project briefs, SOWs, RFPs, and vendor contracts.
  • Attend and sometimes lead client meetings.
  • Produce meeting reports and action items lists, and handle follow-up to both.
  • Oversee client billing and invoicing.
  • Collaborate with the planning and creative teams to relay client needs and revisions
  • Put together presentations and case study documents.
  • Work directly with senior account staff to develop strategic marketing plans that cater to varying target audiences.

The right person for the job will be flexible, move quickly, and be super-sharp. (Apparently, we’re hiring a knife-wielding cheetah.) So, if you’re a smooth-talking cheetah who packs a switchblade, perfect. If you’re a smooth-talking cheetah who packs a switchblade, and you can demonstrate that you’ve done the items above in an agency environment for a minimum of 2 years (did we mention that you need to have worked at an agency to be considered?), you might just get the gig.

If you’re a Mac person, that’s a plus.

Keynote, Excel, and Pages ninja? Plus-plus.

So to sum up – you’re fast, you’re smart, you’re a nice person, and most of all, you don’t need to be told stuff. You figure out what needs doing and you do it. In return, we’ll give you intensive experience in every aspect of this business we call integrated-branding-and-communications, plus a paycheck. There will also be cocktails. Or whatever cheetahs like.

Enthusiastic predators, send your resume and cover letter to iwanttowork@mortaragency.com with the subject line AE/Cheetah.

Desired Skills and Experience: Project Management, Scope Development, Timelines, Budgets, Negotiation, Creative Team Management, Client Relations, Customer Service, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Account Strategy, Brand Planning.

Account Director

We’re looking for an Account Director with at least 8-10 years agency experience to provide strategic and tactical leadership to a mix of some our largest (and most beloved) accounts as well as some fast moving, recently signed business.  This position involves understanding your client’s business and industry as if you worked in it yourself, while still bringing the objective and creative insights that can only come from a trusted marketing partner.  Then, to help you implement your not-so-secret plan for category (and perhaps world) domination, you’ll lead a multi-tiered account team while calling on resources from our creative, media, and account planning departments.

Ideal candidates will be as comfortable developing strategic marketing plans as they are writing the proposals, timelines and estimates needed to fulfill them. Our client roster covers everything from robots to supermodels, but experience in higher education, technology, or medical devices is a plus.

Here’s some more specifics about the stuff you’ll do:

  • Lead day-to-day client relations – this involves regular face-to-face meetings, so we hope you like cookies and white wine.
  • Develop strategic marketing plans that cater to varying target audiences.
  • Create and manage detailed client timelines and budgets for online and offline deliverables.
  • Draft project briefs, SOWs, RFPs, and vendor contracts.
  • Oversee client billing, invoicing and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the planning and creative teams to relay client needs and revisions.
  • Put together presentations and case study documents.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff as assigned.

The right person for the job will be flexible, move quickly, and be super-sharp (imagine a knife-wielding cheetah).

If you’re a Mac person, that’s a plus.  Keynote, Excel, and Pages ninja? Plus-plus.  Tell us a story that makes us laugh – you’re practically hired.

Enthusiastic candidates, send your resume and cover letter to iwanttowork@mortaragency.com.

Desired Skills and Experience: Project Management, Scope Development, Timelines, Budgets, Negotiation, Creative Team Management, Client Relations, Customer Service, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Account Strategy, Brand Planning.

Senior Art Director With Picture of Orangutang.

We need a senior art director to help us asap, freelance or full-time.

Stuff you should have:

  • An ability to organize and deliver multiple design elements of complex, large-scope projects.
  • Serious talent and strong portfolio that showcases it.
  • A BFA (or equivalent experience, we know most of this stuff can’t be taught.)
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • A sophisticated understanding and use of typography, color, and layout—both on- and offline.
  • Jazz hands.
  • Ninja-level proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Enthusiasm for websites, mobile, social media and emerging digital technologies.
  • Great client relationship skills as you’ll be working directly with clients at times.
  • Ability to take direction from CDs and execute flawlessly. (If you thought we meant “compact discs,” you can stop reading now.)
  • A sense of humor and thick skin.
  • A picture of an orangutang.

Responsibilities you will have:

  • Work with teams to keep projects on time and help set expectations for client.
  • Procurement of whiskey for copywriters whenever asked.
  • Concept and execute designs based on overall brand messaging.
  • Provide strategic design vision for clients and agency.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Falconry.
  • Manage project priorities.
  • Take projects from early stages of development to final production.
  • Keep a cool head in the midst of insane client requests.

Big Finish:

In addition to the obligatory coffee, cigarettes, Skittles™ and beer, we can offer you something even better. The chance to help build a new kind of agency, one that will reshape the creative landscape but then grow out of control and suffer a humiliating public breakdown but then have a VH1 special and then be cool again in a retro sort of way. Not Vince Neil-cool. Actual cool. Like Pam Grier. She’s awesome. Anyway, send your resume and online portfolio to iwanttowork@mortaragency.com. And don’t forget the orangutang.

Great taste in footwear is also appreciated.

We weren’t kidding about being Mac people. We also really like shoes.

That is awesome! I’m on the process of submitting my resume n’stuff but I’m missing a minor detail that I believe would give it a nice touch and so, might have to give this process yet another day’s rest. Just wanted you guys to know that I’m super excited and interested in the account executive/cheetah position and I can’t wait to submit my stuff to see where we go from there; I’m pretty sure you’ll like me.
