Googly Eyes.

We love a good surprise. Especially ones that puts us in the same hemisphere as hobbits. Check what happens when you ask for walking directions from “The Shire” to “Mordor” in Google Maps:

Lord of the Rings fans will share in our gigglish glee. We admit, those Googlers can get preet-ty clever. But sometimes, the joke’s on them. Someone with far too much time on his hands found a way to turn Google Translate into a beatbox machine. Perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon.

Remember: One does not simply walk into Mortar.

Thank you “99 Problems, But A Pitch Ain’t One”

The Mortar PR team would like to thank the creator of this tumblr.

We giggle through each and every post.

Many people have no idea what PR people actually do. This certainly helps.

We sent the link to our Moms… and therapists.

Whoever you are: thank you.

Call us if you’re looking for work.

You’re hired!

Mr. Speaker, The Preezy of the United Steezy.

Here at Mortar, we love us a good slow jam. And we’re not talking about Grandma Jean’s twice-boiled apple butter. We’re talking jamz, real sloooow. Takes us back. Which is why we loved Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, when he got the Commander-in-Chief himself to perform spoken word artistry over buttery smooth tracks laid down by none other than The Roots. The result was a match in hit factory heaven. We’d love to see Obie slow-jam the State of the Union, unemployment reports, or maybe a nice recipe for mushroom chicken piccata. We’re pretty sure the world would be a happier place.

Alliant Seeks Supremely Talented Marketing Director.

Our client Alliant, besides rhyming in an uncanny way, is on the hunt for a Divisional Marketing Director in their Seattle office. 8-10 years of experience suggested; awesome personality required. We should mention that Alliant is one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the nation. We should also re-mention that the position is located in Seattle, magical land of flying fish markets and misshapen trolls. If we didn’t already have jobs, we’d be there in a heartbeat.

Mortar Benefits Liberally From Exploiting Adorable Intern.

Whew! What a crazy wild whirlwind these last two weeks were. Jonny had an audition for Glee, a photo shoot in Bali, and dinner at Zooey Deschanel’s house. Our intern’s newfound popularity has got him so booked, we may need to hire another intern to do the stuff Lil’ Jonny used to do.

Now that life at Mortar has returned to some level of sanity, we finally have time to blog about how supremely successful the Save Jonny campaign was. We reached 500 followers in 6 days – 18 days before our target date. That’s like getting an A+ when you were sure you were headed for a D. And the numbers are still growing.

The press loved Jonny, proving we’re not the only ones who want to pinch those cheeks.

And it turns out that’s not all the press loves about us. Business Insider just named Mortar’s website one of the 13 most unforgettable sites in the industry.

Aww, shucks. You shouldn’t have. But we’re glad you did.
